Our school is participating in the EcoPhones Cell Phone, Ink Jet, Laptop / Notebook Computer, iPod, Digital Camera & Digital Video Camera Recycling School Fundraiser. This school fundraiser allows students to learn about recycling while also helping to address our school fundraising needs. The purpose of this webpage is to answer some of the commonly asked questions related to this innovative recycling fundraiser and to request your participation.

As parents, we have all been involved with many school fundraisers related to our children's activities. Here are some of the reasons why the EcoPhones school fundraiser is a better way to raise money:

• It sets the right example!  Rather than selling something people often do not need or want, this school fundraiser provides an environmentally conscious community service, i.e. cell phone, ink jet, laptop computer, iPod, digital camera & digital video camera recycling.  It supports the educational objectives we desire for our children.
• It is simple! Donate your used cell phone(s), ink jet printer cartridge(s), laptop / notebook computers, iPods, digital cameras and digital video cameras to our school. We will receive up to $300 for every used cell phone we recycle, including broken phones! In addition, our school also receives up to $5 for every used ink jet printer cartridge we recycle. Our school also receives up to $100 per used laptop computers and up to $25 per used iPod and/or digital camera.
• There's nothing to buy!  Instead of making a monetary contribution, you actually save money! That's right. You will receive a tax-deductible receipt for donating / recycling your used cell phone(s), ink jet(s), laptop / notebook computers, iPods, digital cameras and digital video cameras.
• It is good for the environment! Estimates indicate there are more than 150 million retired cell phones gathering dust in the United States, with 100 million more added each year. Today only about 5% of these are being properly recycled. Chances are you have one gathering dust in your home. In addition, approximately 300 million cartridges are thrown away each year! The production of a single ink jet cartridge requires 2 and 1/2 ounces of oil. That's more than 6 million gallons of oil wasted each year.
